Beaded Jewelry 101 Workshop

Overview:
Beaded Jewelry 101 is a dynamic, culturally rich, and skill-building workshop led by nationally recognized artist and educator Danielle-Nicole. This immersive experience invites participants to explore the foundations of jewelry making through a creative lens, while also engaging in hands-on activities that nurture both personal expression and practical skills.

Participants will be introduced to key artistic concepts such as color theory, design thinking, and material experimentation, as they create their own wearable art pieces. Through guided instruction and open-ended exploration, students will learn technical skills like sequencing, pattern recognition, and hand-eye coordination, the workshop emphasizes social-emotional learning by fostering emotional regulation, patience, and confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

Whether participants are new to jewelry making or looking to expand their creative toolkit, this workshop offers an inspiring and affirming space where they can connect with culture, community, and their own artistic voice.  Beaded Jewelry 101 also introduces participants to career pathways in creative entrepreneurship, offering real-world insights into how artistic talents can translate into business and economic opportunities.

No Experience Needed:

Looking forward to this jewelry making session with Danielle-Nicole, was an understatement and she did not disappoint! With everything going on in the world, in the news about presidential races or life just life'n, it was really good and needed, to do something different. She set up the intimate vibe with jazz flowing in the background and an inviting space ready for me to create. She encouraged me to pick whatever items that spoke to me, and I did just that. Danielle-Nicole's space, vibe, inspiration and "how to" instructions allowed me to get into a creative space that I had forgotten about and I was able to build confidence that I could make a necklace from scratch. She has over 20+ years experience, so how could I fail?? It allowed me to create something beautiful. It allowed me to meet like minded women with a similar creative vibe and get to know them after the class. Once we were all finished with our masterpieces, we were able to showcase them with class and style. I'm looking forward to attending the next session. Beaded Jewelry 101 with Danielle-Nicole was truly a highlight of our summer programming. Beaded Jewelry 101 with Danielle-Nicole was a truly joyful and meaningful experience for our senior participants. What stood out most was how she created a space where creativity, cultural connection, and personal storytelling came together so naturally. Many of our residents hadn’t done beadwork since childhood, or ever, and were surprised by how calming, empowering, and even nostalgic the process felt.  She guided the group with warmth, patience, and genuine respect for each participant’s pace and perspective. By the end of the session, not only had everyone created something beautiful, but there was a noticeable lift in energy, conversation, and confidence around the room. One resident said, “I didn’t know my hands could still do something this special.” This workshop wasn’t just about making jewelry, it was about being seen, celebrated, and reminded that creativity lives in us at every age.
